The Harbor Rose

Words don't adequately describe the warmth and gracious hospitality of The Harbor Rose. I had the immense pleasure of staying here for two nights while in town for a funeral. Deirdre, Solomon and everyone associated with this gem are superb. They are easily accessible, eager to make you feel at ease, imminently helpful. Aside from the beauty of the house and setting, there is a palpable glow of deep caring, knowledge and consideration here. The Victorian Room provided a serene respite, with its enchanting decor, large windows, water view, and perfect mattress. The bathroom was equally well equipped and soothing. Natural,gentle bath products were provided - with plenty of fluffy towels. Stepping into the shower was like entering a gentle rain forest. Deidre prepared breakfasts that exceeded all expectations. The presentation of fresh mango/blueberry fruit in glass, steel cut oatmeal surrounded by clove/apple slices, fresh oranges, exotic teas enhanced the sense of gracious caring and superb nutrition. As she cooked, Deidre was a font of knowledge about natural food and well-being, open to all questions. We chatted in the warm, sun-filled kitchen/dining area - as satisfying as the meal itself. After breakfast I had the pleasure of a complimentary Ionic Detox footbath. On return in the evening, I was greeted by a brightly lit entryway and Deidre herself. Coffee, tea, wine were waiting. I have stayed at many enchanting inns, but nothing compares to The Harbor Rose. I have never before experienced the wrap-around support and buoyancy that permeates this inn. It was completely nourishing and restorative. I felt a sense of serenity and sustenance here that carried me through the emotional events of a family member's funeral. I am deeply indebted to this marvelous refuge and the people who live here. I am eager to return, and have a chance to continue this journey into wellbeing, and walk its nature trails.
