At the Phelps Museum and at the Bundy House one must visit with a tour guide at ones side. The Munson Williams Proctor house doesn't allow visitors into the rooms. At the two historical locations, the guides have great training, truly know what to say. At the Phelps, my guide had to put a polish of her doctoral thesis. The Roberson has allowed me to roam the mansion unattended and even has a seat or two where I can sit down and use my imagination to reach back into the past. The Eastman in Rochester had rooms and furnishings off limits too but allocated two rooms where visitors could sit as guests. I feel honored and moved to have this access.
