Parking is sometimes unavailable meaning you can take a trip there to use the beach, but may be turned away. I've noticed a lot of people who camp there drive to the public parking, making it impossible for the public to use at times. Great views, kayaking is fun, but I would call ahead and ask if there's parking especially if you're going to be bringing little ones for the day.
