Generally speaking, taking someone's phone and wallet and placing it into evidence is not necessary after arresting someone. Now I have to try and get the District Attorney to approve its release and pray they get back to me in a timely manner. I thought the goal was to help people avoid a life of crime, how am I supposed to take away any moral lesson from this? I just got my pockets run for $13...
