My husband went to Dr. Shenker because he had and has low vision due to diabetes. His eyes were examined and he was given a pair of glasses. Nothing more was done for him to help him with his low vision. Within 2 months, the lenses started popping out of the frames. He refused to go back to Dr. Shenker because he felt it would be a waste of time. Dr. Shenker never offered to show my husband special devices that would aid him in low vision reading. Recently, my husband saw another eye specialist recommended by the Catholic Guild. What a difference! She checked his vision loss and showed him devices specially made for the vision impaired. I too went to Dr. Shenker for eye glasses. I was not happy with my glasses from day one. Dr. Shenker said I just had to get use to them. Well, I didn’t. I paid a LOT of money for a pair of glasses that sit in a drawer.
