Elite Dental of Staten Island

I’d like to thank Dr. Steve Acker at Elite Dental for helping me achieve a better quality of sleep, and in turn, a better quality of life. Before I came to Elite Dental, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, a serious sleep disorder that occurs when a person’s breathing is interrupted during sleep. To treat this disorder, I used a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine, which was very uncomfortable and restricted my movements in bed. Because I usually sleep on my stomach or my side, the machine’s face mask and nose pillow would always shift, causing interrupted sleep and air to leak. My dental hygienist recommended Dr. Acker after attending one of his lectures on sleep apnea. The Elite Dental office in Staten Island  was about one mile from my home so I figured I had nothing to lose. At every appointment I have at Elite Dental, I’m always welcomed by a happy and friendly staff that greets me even before I reach the top step. Dr. Acker fitted me with my very own oral appliance which basically allows me to sleep with no cords, no hoses, no mess. Since seeing Dr. Acker, my overall health has improved significantly. I’m able to sleep better and the number of apnea episodes I experience has reduced dramatically.
