We stayed for one night to enjoy Old Forge for the day and then continue our vacation more north in the Adirondacks. The location was good. Not in the center of town, but definitely walkable if the weather is right. This can be a bonus if you don't want large crowds of people constantly walking by. There's a 24-hour gas station with food made to order directly across the street and a grocery store a short walk on the same side of the street. Also mini golf, ice cream, Chinese food and a liquor store just a few steps away. As for the motel itself, the rooms were clean and spacious. Ours had two double beds, a dresser with a TV on it (old school big box style, maybe 25"?), a small dining table with 2 chairs, an in the wall A/C unit and a toilet and shower with tub that you could shut a door between sink area. Everything seemed recently renovated. Maybe a few years? Not sure, but the carpets looked clean and the tub wasn't stained. Outside, there was a small pool, a picnic table, a few things for kids (swing set, slide, sandbox), a grill and a fire pit. My only complaint was that our AC unit looked like it had black mold inside the vents. Perhaps from being right next to the bathroom. I noticed the exhaust fan in the bathroom either didn't work or was very under powered. This was probably why. I didn't actually make a complaint to management because it was cool enough to open windows and we were only staying the one night. This may not be the case in each room. Overall, I would recommend the motel and would stay again, but perhaps not in room 6.
