I rented an apt sight unseen - as is usual for most people renting for track season - and I depended on Tom Federlin's integrity as a local realtor and businessman that I was renting a decent property. I gave him $6400. up front. When I arrived, the place reeked of cigarette smoke, even though it was advertised as "non-smoking," and was furnished with the cheapest junk. It was so bad, I couldn't stay there longer than one night. My contract stated that if he was able to rerent the property, I could get my $ back. He rerented it, but never told me. I was forced to take him and the landlord, Vito Soave, who owns Soave Faire art store on Broadway in Saratoga, to small claims court, where I found out that they had rerented it - for $4600., giving the landlord $11,000 for the property for the season! He easily could have given me back all my $, but I only got $3000. back after intense court mediation. These jerks still owe me $3400. and I want it back - with interest!!! Shady guy; do not deal w/him.
